As one of the founders of Minerva Simulation & Training, Oliver has spent the last 20 years working in and around the defence industry, including spending his early career as both an Engineer and Project Manager for the MoD.
Oliver's experience includes working on everything from Amphibious Assault Ships to the delivery of complex communications and Data Link projects. More recently Oliver has focused his attention on running a series of successful businesses, and the development of Minerva into a leading provider of innovative simulation solutions.
In his spare time Oliver enjoys a wide variety of sports including playing squash and rowing.
David thoroughly enjoyed a 24 years career as a Royal Air Force Navigator, initially as a Nimrod MR2 Maritime Crew Captain and Navigation Instructor. On completion of the General Duties Aerosystems Course he moved to Tactical Data Links (TDL) trials and testing at RSRE Malvern. In 2000 David moved to Abbey Wood as a Requirements Manager in the TDL procurement team and was instrumental in delivering many TDL UORs including JTIDS/Link 16 onto Nimrod R1.
David left the RAF in 2007 joined a large defense prime as the technical lead of their Blue Force Tracker program.
In 2012 David co-founded Minerva and has overseen the development of all aspects of its Synthetic Wrap and Joint Fires simulation capabilities and has personally supported five Exercise STEEL SABREs (StA CT3+) and a numerous other training events.
David is married with 4 (yes 4) teenage sons and has a passion for all things motorsport. When not transporting the boys between various rugby clubs, David tries to be a regular rally competitor and enduro motorcyclist.
Paul Addenbrooke is a former Soldier and Surveillance specialist having combined Technical surveillance techniques with tactical application both in the United Kingdom and overseas. Paul maintains a wealth of experience and technical skills in fields such as voice and digital communications, Optics, command and control systems and combines this with his tactical knowledge to integrate and operate this equipment in difficult and testing environments.
More recently Paul has been a pivotal member of the ISTAR community where he has managed the use of multi-national ISTAR assets on Operations in the Middle East and subsequently has been the team leader of an ISTAR training delivery organisation. Paul has extensive operational experience from the Middle East, The Balkans, Northern Ireland, The US and Jamaica. He has also had the opportunity to develop technical surveillance techniques outside of the British Army working with a number of Governmental and security organisations against organised crime on the UK Mainland.
As a Technical Surveillance specialist with relevant operational experience Paul has the ability to understand the tactical requirement combined with the complexity of the technical constraints of the equipment. Many of the techniques, tactics and procedures that have been developed over numerous years within the security and military domains can be combined with advancing technology in a manner that delivers real capability to the market place in the form of security and surveillance solutions. Paul’s experience and knowledge provides customers with the confidence that they are acquiring the most appropriate technology to satisfy their requirement.
Rob Moodie joined Minerva Simulation & Training back in Aug 2017. Rob enjoyed a full career in the army where he served a total of 27 years. During his time in the Royal Artillery he gained over 20 Years Joint Fires experience, with over 15 years of Joint Fires Simulation experience. He's deliverd Joint Fires Training at the Royal School of Artillery & the Air Battle Space Training Centre in RAF Waddington. Rob completed a number of operational tours with the most recent being Operation HERRICK in Afghanistan.
Rob is married to his lovely (and very patient) wife Kelly, together they have two beautiful daughters Evangelina & Ophelia. In his spare time Rob enjoys Martial Arts & Cycling.
Stirling Paatz is a Chartered Engineer and a technical expert in process control technology, production design and manufacturing technology. He has over 20 years’ experience in producing special purpose machines for factory automation and executing the sub-contract manufacture of complex electro-mechanical assemblies. He set up SFS in 2010 to develop a range of part-task simulation training modules in response to growing demand from military and civilian customers for cost-effective yet flexible and durable training platforms.
Rob Hughes is a Software, Simulation and VBS3 SME, with over 5 years experience gained when he worked at Bohemia Interactive Simulations. Rob has worked on the development of VBS3 since 2012, including acting as a main developer and technical lead for VBS Tactics and as tier 3 expert support, enabling Urban Warrior V and Dismounted Close Combat Simulator (DCCT).
